Calgary, Alberta (January 13, 2026) — At the FIS Para Alpine World Cup downhill race today in Saalbach (AUT), Alexis Guimond (Gatineau, QC), competing in men’s standing, took third place, as did Mollie Jepsen (West Vancouver, BC) racing in women’s standing.

With today’s third place finish Guimond has five podiums in eight races this season, including two wins in super-G.

“This is a great way to start the new year,” said Guimond. “Feels good to be back on the podium. There is room for improvement for sure after today’s run and that’s what I’m aiming to do tomorrow. I’m excited for what’s to come in the next few days.”

For Jepsen, she has also now claimed a place on the podium in five of her eight races this season.

“I’m always stoked to be skiing speed and it’s a great way to start off 2026,” said Jepsen. “I feel like I am still building my confidence and looking forward to pushing the pace a little bit more in tomorrow downhill.”

Michaela Gosselin (Collingwood, ON), the only other Canadian racing today, was fifth in women’s standing in just her fifth World Cup downhill start.

Under the lights for a night race at the FIS Ski World Cup women’s slalom in Flachau (AUT) in front of an enthusiastic crowd estimated at over 10,000, Ali Nullmeyer (Toronto, ON), in her first race in nearly two months as she’s been dealing with an injury, led the Canadian women with a 21st place finish. Laurence St-Germain (St. Ferréol-les-Neiges, QC) was 22nd, while Amelia Smart (Invermere, BC) and Kiki Alexander (Cochrane, AB) didn’t advance to the second run.
