About
At 24 years old, Michaela Gosselin is a rising star of the Canadian Para-Alpine Ski Team. She grew up skiing at Osler Bluff Ski Club in Ontario, where she raced in alpine competitions until the end of U16. After racing, she obtained her EL and DL coaching levels and coached for two seasons at Osler Bluff. She joined the Para-Alpine competition in 2019-20 when a cancer diagnosis resulted in a scapulectomy of her left shoulder.
Joining para-alpine competition for 2020-21 as a NextGen athlete, Gosselin showed the world what she’s all about with her first World Championship medal in slalom before narrowly missing the podium at the Beijing 2022 Paralympic Games. Also in 2021-22, she won slalom bronze at the World Para Snow Sports Championships in Lillehammer, NOR.
She missed the entirety of the 2022-23 racing season with a knee injury, but returned to her full-time studies at Queen’s University before switching back to remote study in 2023-24 as she found her way back onto the full-time World Cup circuit.
Her massive breakthrough and first World Cup victories came in 2024-25, with two downhill wins in Santa Caterina, ITA, bringing her total to nine World Cup podiums ahead of her second Paralympic season in 2025-26.
