Audi FIS Nakiska Ski Cross World Cup

The world's ski cross athletes are coming together on December 6-7, 2013, when the Audi FIS Nakiska Ski Cross World Cup kicks off at Nakiska Ski Area, Alberta.

As the first stop on the ski cross World Cup circuit, the second annual Audi FIS Nakiska Ski Cross World Cup will set the stage for the upcoming season. This fast-paced event is an important opportunity for Canadian skiers to earn points towards qualifying for the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics. With 130 of the world's best skiers vying for the $80,000 in prize money up for grabs, the weekend will be jam-packed with quick turns, daring passes and big air.

With an ideal layout and easy accessibility, Nakiska Ski Area is a prime location to host this world-class event. A quick 45-minute drive from Calgary guarantees athletes a cheering section that will push them to compete at their best, plus the resort’s base area offers spectators easy access to all the World Cup festivities. Bring your noisemakers and Canadian flags and cheer on our country's best ski cross athletes. See you there!

Kidzone

If you’re a kid for real or a kid at heart this zone is built for you. The WinSport Kidzone will be a part of the festivites on Friday and Saturday at the base of Nakiska Ski Area. The Kidzone will feature marshmallow roasting, a message board where kids can write messages to our Canadian athletes and a brand-new ‘WeeCross’ course. This is a miniature ski cross course with a real start gate and start tent, and a few small features like rollers and bank turns. Kids (and adults) can line up and compete head-to-head or individually to test their times and learn what it feels like to be a ski cross racer.
