Osisko Going4Gold Program

The Osisko Going4Gold Program aims to teach the nation’s aspiring young skiers the skills of downhill, super-G and ski cross racing in a safe, methodical way through a series of ski racing speed camps held across Canada. The Osisko Going4Gold Program – now in its second year – offers racers the chance to train alongside and learn from some of the best coaches and ski racers Canada has ever produced.

The Osisko Going4Gold camps are development camps designed by Alpine Canada and executed in collaboration with provincial sport organizations and mountain partners with the goal of growing an athlete’s technical, tactical, physical and psychological skill inventory in downhill, super-G and ski cross. In a secure environment, each athlete will have the opportunity to work with club coaches, provincial- and national-team coaches as well as Canadian Alpine Ski Team legends who will support athletes in a safe, fun and challenging environment while improving skills in many areas on snow such as:
1. Starting
2. Skating
3. Glide turning
4. Reading and working terrain
5. Jumps, rollers and banked turns
6. Tucking and aerodynamics
7. Stopping
In each camp the progression from section and station training to full-course execution will take place over three days and will help bring confidence, precision and speed to an athlete’s repertoire. With the use of timed sections and speed guns, athletes will be able to challenge themselves and push their skills to new heights
